A Muse Defined by Emotion
In Modern Muse, Laura Kulenova steps into a quiet yet charged visual narrative where emotion leads and words fall away. Set against a natural, almost cinematic backdrop, the series captures a moment of instinctive presence—one where attitude, sensitivity, and restraint carry the story forward. Nothing feels forced; instead, each frame breathes with a sense of freedom that allows femininity to exist on its own terms.
Photographed by Instants by Jessy, the shoot embraces stillness as power. Laura’s performance moves between introspection and confidence, revealing a modern muse shaped by lived emotion and artistic depth. This is femininity as choice, presence as statement, and imagery as an honest extension of identity.
Interview with Laura Kulenova
VIONNE: Laura, this series feels like a story told without words. How important is silence, stillness, or restraint in your creative expression?
Laura: Silence is essential to my creative expression. It’s within stillness and restraint that the strongest emotions exist. I believe restraint creates tension and depth something that doesn’t reveal itself immediately but is deeply felt. Silence leaves space for the gaze, the body, and interpretation. It allows a story to unfold without forcing it, suggesting rather than explaining. For me, true impact often lives in what remains unspoken.
VIONNE: Femininity in this shoot feels free rather than styled or controlled. What does femininity mean to you in today’s fashion and art landscape?
Laura: To me, femininity today is about freedom and power. It doesn’t need to be soft, pleasing, or defined by external expectations. Being feminine is about choice choosing who you are, how you express yourself, and how you take control of your own narrative. In fashion and art, I believe in a femininity that is strong, unapologetic, and sometimes disruptive.
VIONNE: Do you remember the moment you first fell in love with modeling or performing? What drew you in?
Laura: Yes, very clearly. I realized early on that this world allowed me to exist without having to explain myself. What drew me in was the freedom the attitude, the confidence, the power of presence. Being in front of the camera or on stage feels like a statement, a space where I can fully own who I am.
VIONNE: When you're not in front of the camera or on stage, what keeps you inspired creatively?
Laura: My inspiration mostly comes from my emotions and my past. Sometimes it’s memories, sometimes very raw feelings. There are also moments when ideas just appear out of nowhere, very instinctively. I never force creativity I let it come naturally, guided by what I’m feeling in that moment.
VIONNE: As someone deeply inspired by art, are there particular artists, musicians, or visual worlds that shape your aesthetic or emotional language?
Laura: I’m deeply inspired by Helmut Newton and Rick Owens. Their strong, dark and radical visions have always resonated with me. I grew up drawn to grunge and darker aesthetics an iconic, raw universe that truly reflects who I am. I’m attracted to bold, unapologetic visuals that embrace shadow, power and individuality. I always stay true to my own world and identity.
VIONNE: If you could collaborate with any artist, photographer, or director this year — who would be a dream creative partner?
Laura: I would love to work with Rick Owens it has been a dream of mine since my teenage years. Matière Fécale as well; I’m drawn to art that breaks rules and challenges conventions. As for directors, I would love to collaborate with Luc Besson, who has made so many films I deeply admire, as well as Tim Burton and Ryan Murphy their worlds and visual languages inspire me immensely.
