Jeffrey Sielski: Eternal Horizons

I think of classic Hollywood meets modern day red carpet — then I build the lighting to really bring that look to life.

Classic Meets Contemporary in Styling and Lighting

In Eternal Horizons, photographer Jeffrey Sielski and longtime muse Helen Chi take us into a world that feels both immediate and timeless — sculpted by light, shaped by style, and staged against a lush crimson backdrop. Shot at Vibe Space Studio in Manhattan, the series unfolds in two parts: a confident, high-energy red ensemble and a pleated brown gown that channels vintage Hollywood elegance with contemporary flair.

This isn’t just a fashion shoot — it’s a quiet masterclass in restraint. Every frame balances strength and softness, drama and poise. Helen’s poses echo statues in motion, while the interplay of color, texture, and mood transforms minimalism into something magnetic. The chemistry between photographer and model is palpable — not just seen but felt in the fluidity of gesture and the clarity of vision.

At the heart of Eternal Horizons lies a simple but powerful idea: that glamour doesn’t need spectacle. With a single red curtain, two curated looks, and a deep mutual trust between artist and subject, Sielski delivers a series that’s bold, cinematic, and enduring.

Interview with Jeffrey Sielski

VIONNE: Jeffrey, the set is minimal — red velvet, two distinct looks — but the images feel rich and cinematic. How do you build visual depth with such clean simplicity?

Jeffrey Sielski: For this shoot I knew what clothing Helen was going to be wearing so Liza from Vibe Space Photo Studio said a black background I knew that would work then she had the idea of also using the red velvet it added so much to the images, I knew what lighting I wanted to use and everything just came together.

VIONNE: Model Helen Chi radiates elegance and confidence in every frame. What’s unique about your creative chemistry with her after working together so often?

Jeffrey Sielski: Helen is an absolute incredible model, beautiful, elegant, the chemistry honestly come from working together a lot that has built a great friendship, trust & respect.

VIONNE: There’s a clear contrast between the two looks — bold in red, statuesque in brown. Were you aiming for a fashion narrative or emotional progression between them?

Jeffrey Sielski: Honestly I was hoping to achieve both, both looks worked so incredible on Helen.

VIONNE: Posing can often feel performative — but in this series, it reads almost sculptural. What’s your approach to directing movement and posture?

Jeffrey Sielski: The old saying "less is more" knowing your models & honestly just knowing whats going to work best for each shoot.

VIONNE: The red curtain backdrop adds instant drama. Was it just a stylistic choice — or did it carry a symbolic weight in your visual storytelling?

Jeffrey Sielski: The background was black, but Liza from the Vibe Space had the idea to add the red velvet curtain in front & still seeing the black on the floor, it worked perfectly.

VIONNE: How do you balance glamour with restraint — allowing strength and softness to coexist in the same frame?

Jeffrey Sielski: Knowing the models you are working with is very important, not to do too much, have a balance between the clothing, the hair, the makeup, the posing & the different lighting setups, thats how you can have a great balance between both.

VIONNE: The brown pleated gown brings an old-Hollywood touch but feels modern in how it’s styled. What role does timelessness play in your fashion photography?

Jeffrey Sielski: I think of classic Hollywood meets modern day red carpet, then I will base the lighting around to really bring that look to life.

VIONNE: What’s the one visual detail in this series that makes you pause?

Jeffrey Sielski: What really makes me take a step back is how Helen made this photo shoot truly come to life, with each outfit, her look, her posing everything just works so amazing.
