In his latest editorial Couture Style, photographer Jeffrey Sielski turns Manhattan’s Vibe Space Studio into a dual-stage of drama and shine. Set against stark black and icy blue backdrops, the series shifts between bold glamour and futuristic edge—each frame powered by the magnetic presence of model Makayla Mechelle (Alice Laura Models). Styled in velvet corsetry and liquid-metal silhouettes, Makayla transforms with each look, exuding couture confidence and a dash of rebellion.
What begins as a celebration of shape, shadow, and silhouette evolves into a study of duality: softness meets power, polish meets play. Through the sharp lens of Sielski’s visual storytelling and Makayla’s dynamic posing, Couture Style becomes a portrait of fashion as attitude—where each pose is a performance and each frame holds a new persona.
Interview with Jeffrey Sielski & Makayla Mechelle
VIONNE: Jeffrey, this series leans into high-glamour aesthetics with a playful edge. What was the starting point for “Couture Style”?
Jeffrey: Collaborating with Makayla talking about the clothing style I was looking for she came to perfect outside that work amazing.
VIONNE: The lighting shift between the black and blue backgrounds adds such dynamism. What made you want to split the visual tone this way?
Jeffrey: That credit honestly goes to Liza at Vibe Space Studio, once she saw the outfits Liza knew what would work best.
VIONNE: You’ve worked with many models—what stood out to you about Makayla during this shoot?
Jeffrey: Makayla is incredible to work with, here energy, her posing is so strong, beautiful, confident, she really brings a photo shoot ideas to life.
VIONNE: If you could describe this shoot in one word, what would it be—and why?
Jeffrey: Honestly, it’s hard to describe in just one word but I would say "Powerful" Makayla has that beauty & energy.
VIONNE: As someone who consistently produces work, what keeps you energized creatively in 2026? Any unexpected sources of inspiration?
Jeffrey: The energy comes from working with amazing people, loving what I do, the different creative process for each shoot, inspiration comes from the ladies at the studio, the models & many different ideas I want to turn into amazing pictures.
VIONNE: Makayla, is there a moment from this shoot that stuck with you—a pose, a feeling, or a creative spark you want to carry into future work?
Makayla: I loved this shoot of course in all aspects. What stuck out with me though was our second set, the metallic silver dress with the blue beam of light and Jeff’s orange sunglasses brought it a lot of flare! I just want to carry new and personalized energy to every shoot. I strive to change my posing and always experiment with what I can do. I value my experiences with the photographers, because everyone’s work admires me and makes me want to work on my craft just the same.
VIONNE: The second look with the sheer dress and orange glasses is so editorial. Did you feel like you were stepping into a character—or showing a different side of yourself?
Makayla: Yes! I mentioned that in the first question, I thought that look was absolutely front cover mag worthy, so thank you so much for accepting! My alter ego is “Mak” I definitely stepped into her during that look.
VIONNE: What does “couture” mean to you—not just as fashion, but as feeling?
Makayla: Couture is more of an identity than a feeling, it represents a soft power like I behold in my shoots.
VIONNE: What’s next for you this season—any dream campaigns, designers you hope to work with, or personal goals on your radar?
Makayla: I have a lot coming up. So many things in the works that I can’t yet announce, but I will announce as they come along. My personal goals I don’t really like to speak on, but just know they will happen, and I’m striving everyday to officially make them happen. I’m so ecstatic to have my fans and people I love watch me flourish 🤍
