Ivayla Nekova: Modern Muse
Text: VIONNE Magazine | Model: Ivayla Nekova
Photographer: Bogomil Milov | Makeup Artist: Viktoriya Kitanova
From Interior Spaces to Outer Expression
In a quiet studio in Sofia, Ivayla Nekova steps into a space designed for simplicity — where the camera captures not costumes, but character. With skin glowing, gaze unshaken, and a liquid-sculptural corset by resin.cat, the result is both intimate and elemental.
Shot by Bulgarian photographer Bogomil Milov, this portrait series strips away the noise to reveal the clarity of presence. More than a beauty shoot, it’s a visual meditation on posture, poise, and inner power. With makeup by Viktoriya Kitanova, the soft glow only enhances the raw lines of confidence carved by fitness, discipline, and vision.
Ivayla is more than a model — she’s a trained interior designer, a dedicated athlete, and now a Fan Favourite Award winner at the debut edition of Miss C’est La Vie. She brings intelligence to every frame and a bold sense of authorship to every movement.
In her words: “Modeling is storytelling. It’s not about being pretty — it’s about being present.”
Interview with Ivayla Nekova
VIONNE: Ivayla, You’re not just a model—you’re also an interior designer. How does your creative work influence your sense of storytelling in front of the camera?
Ivayla: My interior design background really shapes how I approach modeling. Design teaches you how to communicate mood through composition, colour, and form - and I bring that same thinking to the camera.
VIONNE: What was the inspiration and creative vibe on set during your latest photo shoot with photographer Bogomil Milov?
Ivayla: The inspiration for this shoot was all about capturing the wetness of the skin and the liquid, sculptural elements of the corset designed by resin.cat. We wanted the whole look to feel fluid, glossy, and almost otherworldly.
VIONNE: The makeup in the shoot, done by Viktoriya Kitanova, adds a luminous glow. Do you enjoy beauty looks that push towards minimalism or do you prefer a bolder style?
Ivayla: I genuinely love both. Minimalism feels very close to my personality - fresh skin, subtle highlights, and enhancing what’s already there. But I also adore a bold look when the concept calls for it. Beauty is a form of self-expression, so for me it’s all about matching the makeup to the mood.
VIONNE: Let’s talk about the “Fans Favourite Award” win at Miss C’est La Vie — this was publicly voted. What does that kind of recognition mean to you personally?
Ivayla: It meant so much because it came directly from the public. It’s one thing to be judged by a panel, but having people choose to support you, is incredibly meaningful.
VIONNE: Where do you feel most at home: in a photo studio in front of the camera, or on stage in front of a crowd?
Ivayla: I feel at home in both, but in different ways. The camera in the studio captures my inner world, while the stage brings out my confidence and presence. I love that I get to experience both sides.
VIONNE: Fitness seems to be a major part of your lifestyle. How does your training in the gym shape your presence, posture, and mindset as a model?
Ivayla: Training gives me strength — physically and mentally. It helps with discipline, balance, and control, which makes a huge difference in modeling. When I’m consistent in the gym, I feel more confident in my body and more powerful in my work.
VIONNE: As someone who balances beauty, strength, and creative vision, what’s one misconception about modeling you’d love to break?
Ivayla: I’d love to break the idea that modeling is just about looking pretty. It’s so much more - it’s storytelling, discipline, emotional awareness, and creativity. The best images happen when the model brings intelligence and intention to the frame.
VIONNE: What’s next for you—more fashion, design projects, competitions? Where do you see your path expanding in 2026?
Ivayla: I’m so motivated to continue building my modelling career — I truly feel this is what I’m meant to do. In 2026, I want to take on bigger fashion projects and push myself into new opportunities that challenge and inspire me. I’ll always keep my interior design background close, but modelling is where I feel the most aligned, confident, and driven.
