Softness Against Stone
Among the weathered ruins of Canale Monterano, photographer Paloma Milberg creates a world suspended between presence and disappearance. Altrove — elsewhere — places the delicacy of fashion against architecture shaped by centuries: lace catches against stone, feathers seem ready to drift through broken archways, and layers of tulle meet surfaces marked by time. With creative direction by Angelo Cricchi, styling by Federica Cunsolo, designs by Gian Marco Funari, and accessories by 1259_oc, softness becomes unexpectedly defiant. The clothes do not simply contrast the ruins; they appear to challenge their permanence.
There is an almost spectral tension running through Milberg's imagery. The figure inhabiting these spaces seems caught between worlds — not quite here, not quite gone — moving through the remains of something that once stood with certainty. Monochrome frames strip the landscape back to texture and gesture, while flashes of warm color return the body to the present. Altrove ultimately becomes less about decay than transformation: a visual meditation on what survives, what disappears, and what happens when something fragile refuses to vanish quietly.
