Beauty, when stripped back to its essentials, becomes a study of light, tone, and presence. In Ruth Beauty, photographer Eduardo Castrillo captures model Ruth Diaz through a clean yet striking visual language—where color contrast and precision lighting define the mood as much as expression does.

With nearly two decades behind the lens, Castrillo brings both technical mastery and artistic sensitivity to the frame. For this series, he worked with a Panasonic Lumix GH6 and arranged three Astera AX1 lights into a triangular setup, creating a sculpted beauty glow that enhances contour, texture, and gaze. The result is a balance between control and intimacy—bold backgrounds in red, blue, and orange meeting refined composition and subtle emotion.

Beyond the studio, Castrillo continues to shape the next generation of creatives as a photography instructor at the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula. Ruth Beauty reflects that same spirit of intention and craft—where technical precision meets a genuine appreciation for the subject in front of the camera.
