A Lonely Mind
In A Lonely Mind, photographer and designer Ebrahim Kassem transforms movement, shadow, and symbolism into a raw meditation on men’s mental health. Inspired by the legacy of Michael Jackson — a global icon whose immense visibility often concealed profound isolation — the series examines the silent pressure many men experience to appear composed, strong, and emotionally untouchable. Through blurred motion, fractured silhouettes, and smoky darkness, the imagery captures the tension between public performance and private vulnerability.
The glove, fedora, and spotlight become more than visual references; they operate as metaphors for identity, protection, and emotional concealment. Model Yunusse Amiro Pires moves through the frame like a figure caught between stillness and collapse, suspended in a space where internal chaos becomes visible. The contrast of black and white styling mirrors the conflict between outward confidence and the hidden weight carried beneath it. Together, Kassem and Pires create a visual language that speaks beyond words — intimate, haunting, and deeply human.
