Architecture as Attitude
With commanding grace and cinematic poise, Alia Bardeau becomes both subject and silhouette in this latest photo series by Dmitrii Bezrukov, with makeup by Howie Padin. Set against Miami’s stark urban textures, the cityscape is more than just a backdrop — it becomes a visual counterpoint to Alia’s fluid presence, sharp tailoring, and composed energy.
The collaboration draws on visual references from classic black-and-white street cinema, Helmut Newton’s empowered imagery, and the futuristic stillness of Blade Runner cityscapes. What emerges is a series that blends minimalism and tension: polished, powerful, and unapologetically androgynous. Each frame holds a quiet confrontation — between figure and concrete, softness and structure, intimacy and architecture.
Alia, a model with a multifaceted background as an attorney, dancer, yoga instructor, and world traveler, brings layered depth to each image. Her movements are both poetic and assertive — reflecting a life lived boldly across continents, cultures, and creative disciplines. “Urban Geometry” isn’t just a shoot — it’s a meditation on presence, power, and personal storytelling through visual form.
