Inside Vibe Space: Where Energy Shapes the Frame
In “Edgy Elegance”, fashion photographer Jeffrey Sielski delivers a bold visual contrast that plays with power, confidence, and duality. Captured inside his signature playground — Vibe Space Studio in Manhattan — the series features model Helen Chi in two striking looks: a sleek, high-fashion burgundy dress and a hip, urban ensemble styled with a cap and tailored vest. Colored lighting, strong body language, and dynamic composition come together to create images that feel raw and refined all at once. As Jeffrey shares in this interview, his vision thrives on trusting creative collaborators, tuning into energy on set, and embracing individuality over trends.
Interview with Jeffrey Sielski
VIONNE: Jeffrey, “Edgy Elegance” plays with contrast—high fashion versus a more relaxed, hip aesthetic. What excites you most about exploring dualities like this within a single shoot?
Jeffrey: The more different looks clothing style to me adds some much more in a single shoot, for the model it definitely shows much more diversity she has with different clothing looks & style.
VIONNE: You often speak about energy on set. How did Helen Chi’s presence influence the rhythm, pacing, or creative decisions during this shoot?
Jeffrey: Helen has an amazing energy, she like having music on during the shoot it creates a rhythm once we start shoot we just go with flow.
VIONNE: When you look back at your work, what elements do you recognize as uniquely yours?
Jeffrey: I would have to say the lighting & composition would be two elements.
VIONNE: You’ve built a distinctive visual world inside Vibe Space Studio. How do you transform a familiar space into something that feels new, electric, and emotionally charged with every shoot?
Jeffrey: Honestly I always have an idea for the shoot, clothing, style, but its the ladies at the studio weather its Liz, Elena or Elizabeth with there creatively & ideas is where the photo shoots comes alive, I truly trust there suggestions about lighting working with the models its really what makes every shoot a success.
VIONNE: Confidence is a recurring theme in your work. How do you actively create a space where models feel empowered rather than “directed”?
Jeffrey: The models always have to be comfortable, letting them do what comes natural for them- "posing" with some basic ideas, they can interpret those ideas into what will be natural for them.
VIONNE: In an era where images are consumed faster than ever, what do you believe makes a fashion photograph truly memorable today?
Jeffrey: Not following any trends as much as possible, staying true to your style & vision.
VIONNE: When you look ahead to future projects, what creative risks or unexplored directions are you most curious to pursue next?
Jeffrey: There a going to be more edgy shoots coming in future projects, more dramatic, weather, it will be the lighting, clothing, honestly its going to be a combination of all, stay tuned.
