A Life Fueled by Ideas

For Aida Mandić, creativity is not confined to one discipline — it moves fluidly across literature, activism, entrepreneurship, and now fashion imagery. In this digital cover story, the Bosnian-American author and entrepreneur steps into a visual narrative that mirrors the same intensity that defines her writing and advocacy. The editorial captures a woman shaped by resilience, ambition, and a relentless pursuit of expression.

With more than 130 published books and a career that bridges education, technology, and social justice, Mandić embodies a rare intersection of intellect and creative force. Whether through literature, business ventures, or visual storytelling, her work consistently centers around voice — amplifying perspectives often overlooked and challenging the structures that silence them.

Photographed by Milah Renee with creative direction by Sanija Mandic-Zuko, this editorial presents Aida not just as a subject of fashion but as a storyteller in motion. Each frame reflects a layered identity: writer, activist, entrepreneur, and creative mind. In conversation with VIONNE, she speaks openly about resilience, authenticity, and the power of creativity to inspire change.

Interview with Aida Mandić

VIONNE: Aida, your career spans literature, activism, entrepreneurship, and now a striking fashion editorial. How does fashion photography become another medium for expressing your identity and personal story?

Aida Mandić: I love fashion. I love fashion designers. I love jewelry, handbags, perfumes, makeup, and swimsuits. I love it all. Vera Wang, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Dior, Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Badgley Mischka, Burberry, Proenza Schouler, Saint Laurent, Isabel Murant, Lorraine Schwartz, David Yurman, Schiaparelli, Bvlgari, Prada, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, Herve Leger, Henri Bendel, Fendi, DKNY, Balenciaga, Zuhair Murad, Harry Winston, Rachel Zoe, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Sherri Hill, Pallas, and Thierry Mugler are among my favorite in all of those fields.

VIONNE: Which moment during the shoot did you enjoy the most, and why?

Aida Mandić: I enjoyed every second of it. I can't point to a single moment because the entire photoshoot was amazing.

VIONNE: You have published over 130 books in just five years—an extraordinary output. What drives such an intense creative rhythm, and where do your ideas most often begin?

Aida Mandić: I must experience very passionate, intense, and powerful emotions to write well. If your words do not stem from a place of authenticity, it will come across as cliche, trivial, and tacky when people read it. You can't fake it. Otherwise, you produce things that no one wants to pay any attention to because your literature lacks depth.

VIONNE: Through Searchkey and your work as a scholarship advisor, you help students from disadvantaged backgrounds access opportunities. What inspired you to build platforms that expand educational access?

Aida Mandić: I noticed how scattered information was in regards to educational funding opportunities. It was thrown around all across the Internet with no organization, cohesion, and representation. I realized that it was a massive problem that needed to be solved. I wanted to help. I am the queen of research.

VIONNE: Your background as a refugee and immigrant has shaped much of your writing and activism. How has that journey influenced your confidence, presence, and voice in front of the camera?

Aida Mandić: My self-respect is in the stratosphere. I admire my persistence and resilience in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. I fight for myself. I also fight for others. I believe in truth, justice, equality, and fairness for all people. Martin Luther King Jr once said "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". I agree with him one trillion percent.

VIONNE: As someone deeply involved in education, entrepreneurship, and social impact, how do you see creativity—whether writing, fashion, or photography—contributing to social change?

Aida Mandić: Writing, fashion, acting, music, and photography serve as platforms for social change. They give a voice to those who do not have one. Every voice presents you with a choice. Your life is your message. These fields that you mentioned help to amplify a message that is loud, direct, and clear. They provide you with the chance to speak up, spark ideas in others, and cause momentum. Creativity flourishes in those kinds of circumstances.

VIONNE: Looking ahead, what excites you most creatively right now? Are there new projects—whether literary, entrepreneurial, or artistic—that you’re eager to bring into the world next?

Aida Mandić: I have more books to publish. I have more movies to star in as an actress. I have more businesses to launch. I have more songs to write. I have more ideas to patent. I have more screenplays to manifest. I always have more to bring to the table. I am the Niagara Falls of inspiration.
