A rising pop artist’s journey from the studio to the spotlight

In just one year, Jasmin Artner has released three singles, gained national radio airplay, and carved out a bold, emotional voice in Austria’s pop landscape. But her journey didn’t start with fame—it started with a dream, a studio session, and the drive to prove that it’s never too late to bet on yourself.

In this exclusive interview with VIONNE, Jasmin opens up about the raw emotion behind her new single Move On, her deep connection between music and fashion, and her plans for a full-stage takeover. From intimate lyrics to powerful fashion statements, she’s not just writing songs—she’s building a movement. And she's just getting started.

Interview with Jasmin Artner

VIONNE: Jasmin, you’ve released three songs in just a year — how would you describe your journey from your first studio session to where you are now?

Jasmin: It was a long process and a period of growing, understanding, maturing and forming me as an artist. The first day when I walked into the studio, I had a dream to produce a song with professionals without understanding of the content of the work. Today, almost two years later with constant work in the studio, in a process of delivering my own music into the world, it feeds and pushes me on daily basis to deliver, work and produce more on every field to make my music known, not only in Austria but globally.

VIONNE: Your songwriting seems deeply personal. Where do you draw most of your inspiration from — is it more emotion, experience, or observation?

Jasmin: As an artist, I want my music to be versatile and reflect real life. I write about things anyone can relate to, drawing from my own experiences or from what I observe around me. Whether I’m happy, frustrated or sad, I aim to capture authentic emotions and speak to what my generation is experiencing. It’s all about keeping it raw, relatable and authentic.

VIONNE: Let’s talk about your new single “Move On” — what’s the story behind the song and what message do you want listeners to take from it?

Jasmin: “Move On" is a straightforward and powerful hymn about setting boundaries and reclaiming your space. It was inspired by people close to me who fell for someone who could never feel the same. While the other person moved on, they remained caught in a place of waiting, watching, hoping. But love can’t be forced. This song is my way of saying it out loud: Move on, boy. It’s a message to anyone who has ever felt the pressure of someone else’s expectations, to stand tall, protect your energy and walk your own path. Not every story turns into a love story. And that’s okay.

VIONNE: You mentioned “Move On” connects beautifully with fashion — also through your collaboration with designer Manuel Essl for the cover shoot. What role does fashion play in expressing your music?

Jasmin: Fashion and music have a very close connection, always did. The clothes of an artist are a key part of their identity and as a woman, I feel this is even more important. Whether on stage or at a fashion show, music sets the tone and what you wear should make you shine. The right outfit gives you confidence to be the person you want to be and helps you express your artistic vision in an authentic way.

VIONNE: Your music has already been played on national radio stations like Kronehit and Radio Wien. How has that kind of recognition influenced your confidence or next steps as an independent artist?

Jasmin: The first time I heard my own songs on the radio about a year ago, I felt completely overwhelmed, happy, incredibly lucky and proud. Knowing that the whole country is hearing my music was like a dream coming true. Of course, it also pushes me to create even better and more songs and it drives me to reach more and more people. It’s like being a sprinter: after a great race, you want to go even faster the next time. I feel more confident than ever in my own voice and music and it makes me realize that if I can do this, the sky is the limit.

VIONNE: You have exciting plans for the remaining year — a release show and another single in November. What can your fans expect from these next steps?

Jasmin: Absolutely, there is so much exciting stuff coming up! In November, I’m planning a release show where I will perform my new songs, including some unreleased tracks and really be able to feel the energy and connection with my fans live on stage. On top of that, I’m dropping a new single called “Drown” and shooting a full music video. I’m so ready to share this next chapter and can’t wait for everyone to experience it!

I really hope my fans are as excited as I am for the release of “Move on” and “Drown”. Both songs are very different from each other in terms of sound and vibe, but they each have a clear message and direction that I’m proud of. I can’t wait for everyone to hear them and connect with the stories behind each song.

VIONNE: If you could “move on to the next level” tomorrow — what would that look like for you? A tour, a record deal, or maybe a collaboration?

Jasmin: All of it and even more. My goal is to become an artist with global recognition. This is my aim and dream. I am working hard for it.
